Your domain name is how customers find your business on the internet. Search a name using our live registrar connection, compare available extensions and begin the order using your customer account.
Enter a complete domain name, including its extension, such as example.com or example.co.ug. Our search checks availability using the configured registrar. Availability can change before your purchase is processed.
When your selected domain is available, choose the purchase option. Create a customer account or sign in, select the registration period and add web hosting if needed. The system prepares your order and invoice.
Registering a domain does not give permanent ownership. Keep contact details correct and renew before the expiry date. Your customer dashboard provides eligible controls for nameservers, locking and transfer authorisation codes.
Select a short and easy-to-spell name that reflects your business. Avoid unnecessary hyphens. If you operate mainly in Uganda, a local extension may help communicate your market, although search rankings depend on many factors beyond the extension.
A domain registration fee usually covers a defined number of years. The final checkout amount depends on the extension, chosen term and any hosting you add. Check renewal costs before buying: the first-year offer and later renewal may differ. Save the confirmation and ensure your account email remains active.
Use an account registered in your own business name wherever possible. Keep your WHOIS or registrar contact information current and enable a transfer lock whenever available. An EPP authorisation code can allow a transfer, so treat it as private and share it only when you intend to move your domain.
After registration, a domain can point to your website through nameservers or DNS records. Email delivery may require separate MX, SPF and other records. Confirm the instructions provided by your web host before changing DNS, since incorrect records can temporarily interrupt your website or email.
